99.9% of all scams can be avoided by NEVER sharing your Private Key or Seed Phrase with anyone. The only reason anyone will ever ask is to steal your money.
Don't let them get it!
A common method is to impersonate official accounts. Scammers will pretend to be BONKbot Moderators, BONKbot Support Accounts and even BONKbot Official Channels. To stay safe:
Ensure that you have found BONKbot through official sources. You can click the link here: https://t.me/bonkbot_bot?start=ref_start. There are fake bots which will ask you to deposit SOL. They are NOT real
Scammers typically will DM you first. Official BONKbot Admins will never DM first, and will never ask you for your Private Key or Seed Phrase
All official BONKbots are listed here Multiple Bots. Please check the username carefully otherwise you may get scammed.
If scammers gain access to your accounts, they can often steal your money. Fortunately, BONKbot's Security Upgrade will keep you safe - The Signer Overview.
However, you should still make sure you NEVER allow unauthorised access to your Telegram account (or any other account!). Only verify through official channels.
Malicious actors may utilize advertising on BONKbot to target user funds. Though it is NOT possible for BONKbot user wallets to be drained directly from advertisements, we've seen cases of users being tricked or social engineered into sending funds to bad actors.
We at BONKbot do not have control over these ads, so we advise all users to exercise extreme caution when engaging with all external links presented in BONKbot ads.
